PUBLIC NOTICE – EXTENSION OF 2024 JANUARY INTERNATIONAL REGISTRATION PLAN (IRP) REGISTRATIONS

Written by meadecounty. Posted in Government, Special Events, Updates

RE: Extension of 2024 January IRP registrations
As Kentucky will experience an outage to allow for the installation of a new registration system, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Division of Motor Carriers, will provide an extension for any January 2024 IRP renewals until February 28, 2024. The expiration date and time is in effect until 12:01 AM EST, March 1, 2024. Extension as permitted and defined in the IRP Plan (page 17); “Extension means a period of time from the expiration date or end of a grace period during which registrants may operate on expired credentials by reason of inability of the base jurisdiction to provide current credentials”.
Carriers must adhere to all other state and Federal requirements as well as all other safety requirements. A copy of this memo must be carried in the vehicle.
Therefore, we ask that enforcement of each member jurisdictions refrain from acting against Kentucky carriers operating under the IRP registration of January 2024.
We apologize for the interruption in the registration process, but it’s necessary to bring our customers the upgraded system.
