PUBLIC NOTICE – ELIZABETHTOWN KENTUCKY DRIVER LICENSING OFFICE – NEW LOCATION

Written by meadecounty. Posted in Business, Community, Government, Updates

FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Elizabethtown Driver Licensing Regional Office will operate in a new permanent location where Kentuckians will benefit from increased parking and a larger reception area. The new location will be open to the public on Monday, Feb. 5.

The temporary office at 1055 North Mulberry served approximately 5,000 Kentuckians each month. The new location at 916 North Mulberry will offer a more efficient workspace and an improved experience for guests.

“We are thrilled to have a permanent location for our Elizabethtown office,” said Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) Secretary Jim Gray. “We are committed to exploring ways to take our services to the next level, and this new office will do just that.”

Business hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern Time. Appointments at any regional office are available at https://www.drive.ky.gov, and walk-in customers are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Driver testing in Hardin County is conducted by the Kentucky State Police (KSP). The KSP driver testing services in Hardin County will also be located at the new location but will have a separate entrance to streamline processing for both facilities. Applicants requiring written or skills testing must schedule an appointment online at assigned locations by visiting
https://kentuckystatepolice.gov/driver-testing/

“With increased parking and a larger waiting area, we’re not just moving; we’re evolving,” Department of Vehicle Regulations Commissioner Matt Cole said. “This enhanced environment is all about making our services more accessible and ensuring that every visitor feels comfortable throughout the issuance process.”

Kentuckians now have convenient options such as online scheduling for office appointments, and online or mail-in license renewal that were not available under Kentucky’s previous system of license issuance at local circuit court clerk offices. Kentuckians can choose between a standard-issue or REAL ID-compliant credential and a card valid for four years or eight years.

First-time REAL ID applicants must visit a KYTC regional office in person, with proof of identity, residence and social security. For a personalized list of required documents to bring when applying, visit https://realidky.com. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has set May 7, 2025, as the date by which a REAL ID or other forms of verified identification will be required for boarding a commercial airliner, entering a U.S. military base or entering a federal building where ID is currently required.

PUBLIC NOTICE – PHYSICAL INSPECTIONS – MEADE COUNTY PROPERTY VALUATION ADMINSTRATION

Written by meadecounty. Posted in Business, Community, Government, Updates

Meade County Property Valuation Administration: Kentucky state law requires each PVA office to physically inspect every property in the county at least once every four years. To meet this requirement a quadrennial plan is created dividing the county into quadrants. Our field representatives will visit the property driving a vehicle that is clearly marked as a PVA vehicle. If no changes to the property have been made since the last physical inspection field staff will not exit the vehicle, and will drive on to the next property. If improvements have been made or the condition of the property has changed field staff will identify themselves to the homeowner before inspecting the property. Field staff may measure any structures not in our records, and take pictures of any structures where the condition has changed since the last inspection.
This week (2/6/24 – 2/9/24) field staff plan to visit properties located in Map numbers 93 through 97.
